Weekly Verse and Song for Tonight Weeks 93-100

Week 93
Philippians 4:13
13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
This week the verse comes from my sister Amy. It's hard, sometimes I found myself just wanting to reach out to my mom and talk to mom. As I reflect this week a friend asked me how the 2nd anniversary went. I replied it is hard, it continues to be hard. But the thing I mentioned was my mom gave up my mom's life for me for her Children. My mom's most noble prayer to God, was that mom live long enough until mom's children would grow up and be able to take care of themselves in return my mom never saw mom's dad ever again. I looked at things that I have such as a car, and being able to drive. I look back and realize if my mom had given up, where would I be today.
As I mentioned this to my friend I mentioned this is the image of Christ. Jesus came gave up all He had for us. He came here to live a sinless life to die so that we would not have to be separated from Christ forever. Even the ones that spit at Him and ridiculed, He asked for forgiveness.
Mom you gave me the image of Christ. I look at what you did for us and I know the Lord strengthen you to do this. With this mom I too know I can do all things through Christ who Strengthens me.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
This week the verse comes once again from my sister Amy. As I look back a little and reflect I see today that one of my sisters is getting married in a week. It's exciting, but in my heart I feel my mom is missing. In some ways I understand how my sister must feel, but I can't say I truly know. My mom has always been there for us and knowing that now my mom isn't causes me to feel a great deal of sadness.
But that is fleshly and that's my heart, which fail me. I look toward The Lord, who is the STRENGTH of my heart. The Lord is the STRENGTH of all those who truly follow Him, who are Christians accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
As my sister's wedding approaches I know that it is tough for me but how much more for my sister. The truth is The Lord is our STRENGTH.
Thank you mom for displaying our Lord in your life.
I love you mom, I love you Jesus especially.

Week 95
Galatians 6:10
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith
This is the week that will lead to the weekend where my sister gets married. I know its a hard thing for my sister, but I am glad that we are here to celebrate and I know there is a huge piece missing. My mom is the glue and I knew that one day when my mom left that that glue, that bond would weaken and to a degree it has. But the truth is Christ is the one we look to, He is the one that carried my mom all these years raising us kids, to be where we are today.
My family are believers in Christ, the degrees may vary I'm not sure, but the truth this is we are believers. So though we are The Bible tells us to do good to everyone and especially those who are of faith in God.
This weekend may be hard for all of us, and happy for us, but I trust the Lord will carry us through regardless as He always has. I know my mom is happy. Praise Jesus.

Week 96
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin." -1 John 1:7
Well last weekend my sister got married on October 24th. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel, well to be quite honest I thought I wasn't going to feel emotional. Then my brother and my other sister walked out arm and arm and to a song that was played for my mom at my mom's service. It was so emotional for me, I almost felt like I couldn't do it, because I was going to start balling. Then my sister turned to me and said be strong. I then walked over to my sister who was getting married and gave her a hug, not sure why, but felt like I needed to.
Something was missing, that something is my mom. "I miss my mom" were the words from my sister who was getting married, I shared the same sentiments.
My sister honored my mom during her wedding in an emotional way that continued to show how much out mom meant to us. By doing so my sister honored my mom. I couldn't quite look around but I could tell or feel there was not a dry eye in the Church. Doing so and even at the reception we honored the Lord and my mom by the fellowship. I remember telling one of my sister's friends, that it's not about my mom, because ultimately it's all about Jesus.
Mom you may not be here on Earth, but I know you are smiling down. Praise God.

Week 97
"For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ." -Galatians 1:10
This verse this week provided by my sister, struck me this week as something, Im not sure I truly thought of before in regards to my mom. My mom's a single parent and raised 5 kids. My mom was also a foreigner to the United States being born and brought up in India and moving here. The thing that struck me was that my mom HAD to live a life where my mom could not think so much about pleasing people, but about pleasing God.
Mom could have went back to India taken us with mom, and raised in India as Indians, yet my boldly declared faith in God, by staying here and raising us here. As I get older it's not something easy to do, when you look at the world around us. Mom however was not interested in "seeking" the approval of the people here or in India, but mom was declaring mom's faith in God, trusting that God alone will protect us. In this as Galatians 1:10 states mom is a servant of Christ.
Mom thank you for being bold and relying on Christ, because of your faithfulness that you displayed I see how I can have that faith as well.

This week I have been thinking about Mom and still after 2 years it doesn't seem like mom is gone, but that mom is here. I think the truth is my mom's presence will always be felt, especially through my siblings and the people my mom encountered a neighbor, a friend. However it is important for us to know that mom is in God's presence and that truth God leads us to.
It is important to know that it is God who lead mom here on Earth, and by which mom's task was to take care of us and correct us. In the truth the Lord was the one who truly took care of us and lead us. God provides the salvation, my mom lead us to Christ.

I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Life sometimes seems so much fun and sometimes it can be so much pain. This is inevitable, the one true and constant, constant is out Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My mom knew this I believe. As we walk in our daily lives as Christians, it can be easy to want to take part in activities that may take us away from a relationship with Christ. In our heart true followers of Christ store up God's word in our heart, that we might not sin against God.
The truth is we will, but we try that we might not.
My mom is a firm believer of Christ my mom I know loved the Lord, my mom set an example for us. I'm not saying my mom was perfect, but mom stored up God's word in mom's heart that mom might not sin, against God.

Week 100
Psalm 34:18
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
This week is Thanksgiving week.. I've been so busy that my concentration has been on work, working out and that's about it. In the back of my mind I keep thinking about Thanksgiving and how mom is not here with us to celebrate. With all that said I think I can take this time to reflect on the good things. In regards to my mom I thank the Lord above for giving us a mom that took care of us.
Every Thanksgiving was cool, I still remember mom cooking the Turkey and making it nice for all of us, I remember mom sending me to the store several times to buy items for Thanksgiving. As I sit and reflect I think how great a mom, God has given us. My mom did not work, but raised us off of welfare and took care of us in a manner that no one could. I believe mom's prayer to God while we were growing up was that mom despite getting sick, would be able to raise us until we were adults. Mom I believed fought emotional battles, and physical on mom's knees and when mom couldn't do that anymore mom would pray seated always with hands folded.
Mom I know you loved us, and I know you took care of us no matter what you were going through I believe you wanted to be here until we were able to be raised on our own.
To quote a line from Rocky "...and when I leave you, you will not only know how to take care of yourself inside the ring but outside" -Mickey
Mom, because of your lead, love and care by God's unsurmountable grace we can now take care of ourselves inside and outside the ring of life, with God's strength, because Jesus is our ALL in ALL.
