Weekly Verse and Song for Tonight Weeks 146- 154
October 12, 2016
Week 146:
I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. -Matthew 25:36
This week I have been learning some valuable thoughts. Jesus told His disciples this, when discussing with them the Final Judgement. Then in verse 37, Jesus says this:
"Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’"
Jesus spoke about this to His disciples and it's a lesson for all of us. I know in my heart I looked after my mom and did the best job I could, as I was a kid my mom took care of me. As an adult it was "my turn" meaning, I needed to make sure mom was ok, not out of monetary means necessarily but by showing genuine love and support.
I could go to Church and recite verses, but it's meaningless unless I truly loved. (John 13:35)
I love you mom, I love you LORD.
Home soon.

Week 147:
Mark 1:35-39
Jesus Preaches in Galilee35 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with him searched for him, 37 and they found him and said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.” 38 And he said to them, “Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out.” 39 And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons.
Tonight's verse and actually this morning's devotion was a reminder to me about praying. It's something that I don't do often. I recall talking to my mom and "mom would always say I am praying for you." It's so important I realize more and more. Decisions need to be made and the first thing I think most of us, including myself would do is consult friends and family. Many times I would see mom in silence praying before eating, I remembered many times it would seem like my mom would be praying for many minutes. Overtime I realize this is my mom's prayer life mom is praying for mom's kids.
Mom set a lot of examples for us to follow in the midst of it all it seems they serve as an example for me. However I reminded that this is not mom's doing it is Jesus as He displayed a powerful prayer life for us to follow as an example.
Thank you mom for all you did, and thank you for showing me Jesus, THE Most important, part of this and mylife..
Love you mom, Love you Jesus.

2 Corinthians 7:8-10
8 For even if I made you grieve with my letter, I do not regret it—though I did regret it, for I see that that letter grieved you, though only for a while. 9 As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us. 10 For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.
LIFE, sometimes I tend to define it as Loose Instructions For Everyone. This seems fitting at times, and at others it seems there are no instructions so it seems that it would be define as Live In Fluid Emotions. However for me LIFE is not defined by any acronym, it is defined by the one who created us Jesus Christ. My life has to be defined by Christ for one simple reason it is living in God's will, a life that is for Him.
My mom took care of us and disciplined us, ultimately mom knew that one day mom would be gone and all that will remain in mom's kids life is God. As I experience LIFE I see the greatest gift God has given us is Himself, and this was learned from my mom who knew LIFE = CHRIST.
I love you mom and I love you Jesus. See you soon.

Revelation 2:10
Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Working hard in this life and gaining things so that you can live is important. We work, and sleep, maybe some of us raise a family and try to do the best that we can. But are we ever truly happy in this world? The answer is simple, No, if all life is, is just that. Life is more than all of this. Life is Jesus and to to truly experience that happiness to truly experience that joy is to give your life to Jesus.
In my mom's final years on this Earth I know my mom experienced pain, but there was something so different, something so peaceful, my mom seemed to have grown stronger and stronger with Christ, mom seemed to know what it was like without Him and at the same time mom knew the closeness mom had developed with Jesus, and I can say mom and a peaceful joy, and happiness. The reason is because though mom was in pain, mom knew that being truly happy was knowing Christ.
I love you mom, I love you Jesus.
Home soon. :)

Isaiah 41:10
10 fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Sometimes we go up and down in our emotions and all. I think the biggest thing is to remember that if you are a follower of Christ that He is with us. I have had many days just sitting alone at home and your mind plays tricks on you. You feel you aren't good enough or that things will not work out. At times like these I am reminded of my mom. After my mom did so much work and tried very hard mom was home a lone. My mom probably spent many days thinking of how Jesus brought mom through many trials, and how my mom raised mom's kids and it all may have seemed impossible, but mom reflected back thinking of mom's relationship with Jesus.
Jesus carried mom through this life and so will He do for everyone of us who choose to put our trust and faith in Him.
I love you mom I love you Lord.

Matthew 6:7-8
7 “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
A lot of times I pray, but I don't pray long. I do believe it is so important to pray and to express whatever is on your heart to Jesus.
My mom would sit at the table and do just that. Mom would pray and to me Mom's prayers were long in comparison to mine. However I believe what the Lord is expressing, is to pray to God but not pray so that others can see you do it, but to pray what's on your heart, Our Lord already knows what we need before we ask.
I love you mom, and I love you LORD.

Colossians 3:16-17
6 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
This week marked my 40th birthday. It's interesting to this I am 40 now, normally on my birthday mom would cook Biryani for me and it would be a quiet celebration. The last 3 years it's been me and me. With all these things I realize that mom did mom's job and mom lived a life to take care of mom's kids and when it was time mom left to be with Jesus. The main thing I remember is what mom did for me and currently as I go through things I keep my focus on Jesus.
As Thanksgiving approaches I search through scriptures to find a verse that would encourage me. I am reminded that in everything we do we do it for Jesus.
Mom taking care of mom's kids was Mom taking care of us by God's grace.
I love you mom and I know it's only by God's grace you took care of us.

Job 19:25
25 For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
The year is coming to a close in about 30 days we'll be starting January 2017. The most impressing thing on my heart these last few days is getting back, that is getting back closer to my Redeemer, Jesus Christ. This year (more in a few weeks) has been met with challenges and all , but what year hasn't? At the same time I started realizing that I was putting my passion and my interest away from my Redeemer and cared slowly more for my work.
In my mom's life as mom was nearing the end of this Earthly life I saw a spark in my mom. My mom had a spark and passion for Jesus Christ and for eternity, it was in the way my mom carried mom's self, in the way my mom reflected on life, everything. I knew in my heart mom knew evermore so who mom's Redeemer is. The way we live doesn't have to be the way we end. Our lives as Christians should be about glorifying our Heavenly Father and NOT let anything or anyone take His place.
Mom lived and became closer to Jesus and mom today is rejoicing.
I love you mom and I love you Jesus.
Thank you Jesus.

John 11:25
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
This is the time of the year that can be very hard for most people. The reason is not necessarily because the weather here in Chicago or other places, but its because it's The Christmas season and memories exist for many of how things "were", especially for those who have loved ones who have passed away. I remember so many times how my mom made Christmas so special. I never felt like I was missing anything. I just always remembered feeling my mom's love and family.
I encourage myself and othersto consider this time of the year as for what it is, a time to reflect on The Birth of Our Savior into this world and to remember not of things that "were" but of how things will be. As Jesus said"
I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
Let this truth penetrate your life and give you courage and strength not only for this time of the year but for your entire life.
