Weekly Verse and Song for Tonight Weeks 85-92
Week 85
8/12/15
Matthew 16:25 "For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."
What Jesus said here is something us Christians and non-believers need to remember and understand repectively. This week I am reminded time and time again that Jesus is who I serve, not a job. Sure the Lord provides for me through work, but that first comes because of Christ's provision and blessing.
This week has also reminded me how my mom sacrificed for us, giving mom's best for us, perhaps always having butter flies in my mom's stomach as mom went through daily activities, but mom I know relied sole on The Lord sure mom had good days and bad. This is something I strive for, to rely sole on God to put all my trust in Him. As we learned in Church this week, will I praise the Lord when I am on the Mountain and when I am in the Valley?
It's hard I've been tested this week, The above verse is one that speaks to believers to know that for the Lord though this life will end, we will be in perfect peace.
My mom today is in perfect peace with Christ. My mom relied on the The Lord and though my mom is not here my mom has found true life.
Chris Tomlin - Lay Me Down with Lyrics
See you soon Mom and Lord.

Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor. -Proverbs 3:34
This week been engulfed in trust. Learning more and more to trust in the Lord through all the trials and odd things that happen in life. As I ponder the verse above it seems more and more clear to me, that to be humble provides the favor of the Lord.
My mom walked this Earth, without much but provided for us, took care of us, and today as I sit with butterflies in my stomach I appreciate my mom more and more. Mom went through life without much choosing to stay in the U.S,, for one reason to raise mom's kids. My mom could have went home to India, and had things better, but instead stayed here and raised us as U.S. citizens, enduring the hardship here, alone. However my mom was not a lone my mom had the favor of the Lord, as my mom was humbled.
For many reasons I see how my struggled and struggled but today we are better, the frustrations I feel this week, are nothing compared to what my mom went through and as I type this I feel a few butterflies leaving.
I love you mom, for many reasons but for taking care of us by God's provision and grace. I love you Lord for in you I can trust.
See you soon.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 "But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one"
Up and down week so far, my thoughts just keep going back to my mom, as we are a month away from when my mom entered Glory with Jesus Christ. It's really hard because all I have known here on Earth as the ones who loved me is my mom and Jesus Christ. The truth is The Lord truly loves us and no matter what we have been through He walks with us.
So many times this week I just want to talk to my mom and just let my mom know how I am doing, and what I am doing. The Lord knows these things, and I start to remember that the Lord knows.
My mom as a Christian gave us the best gift ever, my mom lead us to Christ and mom leaving this life with that knowledge can know that mom did mom's job. It's the job of every Christian to or just the same it is a Christian's highest calling to lead others to Christ. Mom did so, mom lead me to Jesus Christ and today I can read the above verse and though my mom is not here on Earth I can know that mom did mom's job and that the Lord is faithful, and He establishes us and guards us against the hardships of this world, knowing we will encounter it, but we can endure -satan- and come out as He has established us, Followers of Christ.
I say this every week but I love you mom, though you left this world you lead us to the knowledge of Christ and because of that I have the Lord the greatest gift of all, I love you Lord for in you I am protected and cared for just as you care for my mom, and in turn mom cares for us.
See you soon.

Hebrews 12:1-3 Jesus, Founder and Perfecter of Our Faith
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Do Not Grow Weary
Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted."
I think this week has been a challenge as 2 years draws closer. I find myself in constant thinking of my mom. feeling how impossible it seems as realization after realization after realization just keeps hitting me over and over. Mom was here and now mom isn't, and as many times I want to speak to mom it makes things hard.
As the above passage notes that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, as we lay aside every weight and sin that holds us tightly and let us run the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus...I paraphased some of the passage specifically noting that we are surrounded by this cloud of witnesses, they act as encouragers of the Faith, as we look to Jesus.
My thoughts go to my mom as my mom is encouraging me to keep running the race, looking toward Christ
I love you mom, I love you Lord. See you soon.

Romans 8:38-39
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This week has been extremely tough. I made a change and this week was the first week of that change. It's been tough because my mind keeps going back to, why didn't I just stay where I was at? I was at peace, I could make moves if I stayed that I am not sure I am comfortable with now. However in that angst my mind goes back to Christ. I know that all things that happen to us are allowed by the Lord. The Lord has a plan in all of it.
My thoughts this early. early morning while it was still dark after I drove back from the gym was look at the weather. My mom asked once on the way back from my first night shift at work, when I was a teenager, "were you scared walking home, it's dark". My answer was "no". As I drove back from the gym I looked at the dark morning sky, saw clouds and remembered my mom's words so many years ago. Mom always seemed to care, no matter what and no matter how old we were, my answer was still no. The reason my answer was still no is because I know the Lord allowed me to be where I am for a reason. I may not understand, but I know that Jesus allowed it so I also know that He is with me.
Since Christ allowed it, I can have less angst about it and know that nothing as the verse states, nothing can "separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." He is with me, just as my mom never stopped loving and caring no matter how old we are. Christ has a plan and is with me and loves and cares for me and all of us.
Mom the memory of your words reminded me today, why I shouldn't be scared, because of Jesus.
I love you mom, you still remind me, and especially Jesus I love you.

Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
As time to the 2 year mark approaches it seems harder and harder to actually believe that the time my mom had here on Earth is over. I still have dreams where I see mom's face and see mom sitting on mom's corner of the couch. It's in a nut shell hard.
Though times seem so tough I re-read this verse today that my sister sent out. The Holy Spirit the third person of the Trinity that Jesus said will come and reveal the truth, helps us in these matters. The Spirit intercedes for us with groanings. I tell you many times this week I feel weak just thinking of missing my mom. My sister was in the hospital for something minor and I was reminded of the things my mom went through for us.
SO though I am weak I know the Holy Spirit is our guide and as the verse says above The Holy Spirit will help us in our weakness.
Thank you Lord for the Holy Spirit who helps us.
I love you mom and thank you for what you did for all us of your kids while we were on young and fragile and when we were older and fragile. Thank you Lord for my mom.
I love you mom and I love you Lord.

Colossians 3:12-15
12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
So here I sit 2 days away from the 2 year mark. I can't really not say that part of me was counting this down and part of me wasn't. This week the one thing I learned is something that I truly know my mom had in the last days of mom's time here on this Earth. That is compassion heart, kindness humility, meekness, and patience. My mom displayed that, I believe mom had the peace of God ruling in mom's heart. I'm learning that God's peace is the best. That peace tells me that no matter what circumstance comes in life that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, has it and will prevail, so I just need to remember do my part let The Peace of Christ rule in my heart.
As I reflect on mom and reflect on myself and The Word of God, I slowly gain a peace, I won't say I have it, but I will say I realize and am obtaining it.
Mom no matter what as time passes your example shines. Thank you mom for being an example and showing me who Christ is.
I love you mom and I love you Lord.
See you soon. :)

1 Timothy 2:1-2
Pray for All People
2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
So as my sister says "Made it". Year 2 has passed but it didn't seem as hard. It seems that sometimes the anticipation for an event or a life situation such as this the anniversary of the passing of my mom.
It seems this verse to fit for tonight as people who I didn't know prayed for me and my siblings. I received prayers from some friends but perhaps there was even more. As I think of my mom tonight I remember how mom always prayed for us. I believe as I heard many times my mom say a noble prayer which was my mom didn't want to leave this world until we were able to take care of ourselves. God answered my mom's prayers as I know when my mom took mom's last breath my mom, our mom, was happy knowing that God answered my mom's prayers two fold, as now my mom is in glory with Jesus Christ.
As I type this I am smiling and a happy tear.
Thank you mom, Thank you Jesus.
I love you mom and I love you Lord, I live for you Jesus.
I'll see you soon.
