Weekly Verse and Song for Tonight Weeks 180 -187

Week 180
John 6:68
Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,
Today's verse Jesus asked His 12 disciples after many other disciples left, "Do you want to go away as well?" (John 6:67) Peter answered Him "Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."
Today I was pondering this verse, and thought the disciples gave Jesus their life, how it must of felt when Jesus left them. Yet we learn in Scriptures that Jesus did not leave them a lone He sent them the Holy Spirit. On this earth my mom was the first one I knew, I love and care for my mom, and put my trust in my mom as a kid, mom would not hurt me, but take care of me. One day Mom's time on Earth was over, mom performed the work that mom needed to do and mom left this life.
From as early as I can remember mom taught me about Jesus, -now understand I am not equating mom to my Lord and Savior, just offering an analogy- when Mom left this life, I was not a lone. I had Jesus, before and after Mom left, but what I learned is that life is so fleeting and like any relationship, a relationship with Jesus should grow. That's the greatest gift Mom, could ever teach me about is Jesus, today I don't sit as an orphan but I sit with the Creator of the Universe in my life and it is all because of God.
I love you mom, and I love you LORD, always.
Home is the place.

Week 181:
John 6:69
We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God."
Tonight's passage is a continuation from last week. Peter after stating "Where will we go..." Peter stated in verse 6:69 of John, that "...you are the Holy One of God."
This is one of the most profound statements, as Peter stating this knows by evidence, that Jesus is the one prophesied about. In this life and everyday I encounter Christians that don't take their faith serious, how important is it for us to know our creator, to know Jesus. Peter and the other disciples from what we understand knew Jesus more because they spent time with Him, and got a chance to know Jesus.
The same is true for us today to spend time, developing our relationship with Jesus, doing Bible Studies, thinking, praying all are great ways.
When we were kids mom would sit us down, the 4 of us and we would go through a children's Bible. Mom would read to us and the images from the Children's Bible and time spent led me to Jesus. We didn't have a lot and I remember mom asking the Church if mom could use the Children's Bible. It was amazing for me (though at the time like most kids wasn't always thrilled) today to know that Mom did this for us, because mom wanted us to know Jesus by spending time with Him, to know Him, and to Love HIM.
I don't know everything, but it could be that mom did this for us because mom knew mom would leave this life, and mom wanted to give us the truth and for us to know that we are never a lone.
I love you mom and I LOVE you Lord.

Week 182:
Galatians 6:9
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
This week I spent time just thinking of life. I always try to make the right choices (but I don't always suceed). This week I had to confront someone who was doing things in a manner that was not appropriate.
It's times like these that I wonder am I doing any good. The verse for tonight does speak to how I felt and still feel.
In times like these I appreciate my mom even more. I get reminded, of how mom felt when mom had to discipline us, over and over. However, just as hard as that was and mom grew weary things will change.
The verse above applies to life, but more importantly about sharing the love and gospel of Jesus. So though I had to speak the truth, ulitmately it's what I felt by the Lord to do.
I love you mom thank you though you may felt weary disciplining us, it was through this action you showed me Jesus. I love you Lord. I love you Lord thank you.

Week 183
Romans 5:11
11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our LORD Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
This week I was discussing with a friend from Oklahoma about creation. It seems like a lot of times I can't stop pondering about Jesus, and I can't stop talking to others about Him. The reason I was discussing with my friend about Jesus was because I wanted to equip him to talk to others, and to help develop his relationship with Him.
I think as a Christian our highest calling is to be able to talk to others about Jesus, should the time come, but also to live our lives for Him.
Growing up I wasn't always excited to have mom conduct Bible Study with us, however, today I am more excited to learn about Jesus. My mom's influence has left me with true contentment, and though my mom is not here on Earth mom has left me with the giver of life as He is always with us.
I love you mom, and I love you LORD

Week 184
1 Corinthians 11:1
1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
In the verse above Paul speaks to the Church in Corinth instructing them basically. In our lives as followers of Jesus Christ it is often for me at least to find someone who follows Jesus. One who gives us instructions. who teaches us God's word but also lives it out in every aspect. However I think we can find fallible people who try to live and instruct us.
My mom was one of those people. I remember going through difficult times and remembering Mom tell me to pray to God and as Mom would be praying for me.
I love you Mom and I love you Lord.

Philippians 4:6-7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
I think a lot of times it comes, without any of us realizing it we may go from a high to a super low. We may have things going well for us, then suddenly things seem to be going wrong. This can involve many different things such as washer not working,, computer problems, relationship issues, anything.
Mindset is what's important in all things. However not just any mindset the right mindset, giving always thanks to God in every and all situations. My mom did this in mom's life. I could see that mom's body was ailing mom still knew who mom served. Every Saturday night it would be listening to Billy Graham crusades, where mom would say during the altar call of the program, "it's like Heaven coming down".
In all things give thanks to God for all that He has done, by acknowledging Jesus Christ.
I love you mom and I love you Lord..
Home is closer one day.

Psalm 94:19
When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought me joy.
I used this verse a few months back and as I was looking at what verse to use for tonight this seems to fit. Tonight I was working on a last few cardio workouts for my current training program. It's been tough and it's easy for me to take it easy as it's almost done. As I was on the stepper I thought of mom and recalled how much motivation my mom was for me (though growing up I didn't really know this) and as I was "taking it easy" on the stepper I turned my attention to my mom and pushed forward though I was very tired.
I've been under stress from trying to complete this 8 week program, working, and other things, but as I recall things that I've been through and as I read this verse it reminds always that though anxiety may come, God is the one who takes care of us it is He who gives us the strength to keep going when we want to quit, or when we feel overwhelmed.
My mom experienced this on a different scale and as I look at my life and think of mom's I am reminded that mom pushed forward, only because of Jesus.
I love you mom and I LOVE you Lord.

2 Peter 3:18
but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
In life most of us get concerned about many different things, politics, job, stocks, etc., Tonight I just want to touch on what it means to grow in knowledge of Jesus Christ. Today at the gym I was speaking to a few nice ladies they were talking about politics. This is not something that concerns me honestly but it is a topic that does concern others. They asked if I voted and I stated no. I told them my thoughts on the process but then left them with this thought.
In the Bible God appointed leaders for a specific purpose and then God removed them. The reasons could be many, but ultimately through these leaders whether in power or removed God shows His Glory. Saul was appointed as a King and was a good King at first, then he committed wrongs, and the Prophet Samuel told him that God was going to remove him (See 1 Samuel 15). In our current time the same holds true.
The point I am making is growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who gets the glory, means that you know that no matter what happens in this life God is in control;. My mom being a lone in this country (United States) in time came to know that no matter what God is in control and it was evident in my mom's life both in mom's time and now for eternity.

Week 190
Exodus 15:2 The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
Many times in life as Christians we need to remind ourselves not who we are but whose we are. Tonight the verse and song reminds us that The Lord is our strength, our song, and our Savior.
Mom many times in this life went through many battles, that eventually led mom to different places in life emotionally. Mom worked and gave everything mom could for mom's children. There was a price to pay and mom accepted it at times, and at times I know mom was heartbroken. Mom gave up ever seeing her earthly father again (appa), although it wasn't always clear. These are things that mom had to go through for mom's kids. With that all said mom knew, no matter what goes through in life God is mom's strength. Mom always told me to pray to God, because Mom knew where true strength, the true song, came from, it was from our savior Jesus.
As a Christian and as we walk this life, it is important for us to take time to remind ourselves daily, that we have decided to follow our savior, and we will never look back.
I love you mom and I love you Lord, thank you for saving me Jesus.
