Weekly Verse and Song for Tonight Weeks 101 - 109
Week 101
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
The Lord is almighty and when you look out into creation you see the wonders that Christ has done. This wee the verse comes from my sister Amy. As we look out into creation we see a lot, yet even though we can see this we must ultimately have faith. As the verse above says we have been saved through faith.
My mom knew what it was to have faith, mom raised us here and took care of us. Yet mom had faith in God knowing that mom's children would only be truly saved by believing in God. Mom was the one who led me to Christ, Mom was the one who first taught me about Jesus. Ultimately my mom knew that though we would be in this world we must pray and believe by faith that Christ will take care of us here while we live our lives and that we must believe by faith that He saved us.
When we would go through things mom would always say I am praying for you and Mom always did. There was times also in Church when the Pastor would ask are there any prayers and I remember my mom getting up and asking the Pastor to "Please pray for my children".
Mom you taught us so much, but he greatest thing you taught us was to have Faith in Jesus. Praise God.
I love you mom, I love you Lord.
See you soon.
This song this week comes from my brother Leo.

Week 102
Hebrews 9:28
so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
This week's verse comes from my sister Amy. It's hard sometimes at this point to fathom that my mom is not here. The thoughts have always been will I see mom again. The verse above speaks of the hope we have in Christ. There will be a point when Christ shall return and put all things right. There are those that will still be here and will see the Son of God coming on the clouds and will bring the souls of those who have passed with Him (Thessalonians 4:13-18). He will reunite both body and soul into a perfect incorruptible, body. As we know today we all are decaying, we lose our hair, we lose our teeth, we grow liver spots, all in the world we live in. One point in time Christ will return and He will claim His people, those of us who have chosen to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior for the remission of sin. Why do we need to accept Christ? The simple answer is we are all born sinners into this world, sin cannot be in God's presence, but in God's righteousness He provides a way for us by means of Jesus as a substitute for our sins, by accepting Christ God will look at us as sinless.
Today I do wonder sometimes will I see mom again. The verse tells me that Christ will return, and 1 Thessalonians tells us that yes I will see mom again. Most importantly I will get to see the Savior of the world.
Love you mom, especially love you Lord.
I'll be home soon.

Week 103
1 Corinthians 13:6-7 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
This week's verse comes from my sister Amy. As I am reading this verse, and during this time of the year I reflect on my mom and especially Christ. See in a kids life the most important to show that child is love. By doing so we as Christians see the image of Christ. Here's the example:
My mom left mom's home in India and came to America, after the marriage fell apart mom found mom's self alone raising 5 kids mom's self. Mom certainly had the choice of returning back to India, even abandoning mom's kids and just going back to India and giving up. No saying that would of been a good choice but mom could have. Jesus Christ steps off His throne and enters into this world. People mocked, Him, spat at Him and ultimately killed Him. During this process being amongst hateful people Jesus could have have said that's enough and return home. But there is a reason the story doesn't read this way.
Christ loved us and beared all things believed all things hope in all things and endure all things. Christ came for us and sacrificed His life, giving up all things for us. My mom is not equivalent to Christ, but mom showed the love of Christ as mom looked at these little "rug rats" and said for them I will stay and I will raise them. Jesus Christ looks at us even in a greater way and said these are my people and I will lay my life for them.
I recall times when my mom was sick in bed up in mom's room, then stair way light would turn on, and mom would walk down those stairs and cook dinner for mom's kids, because mom loved us. Jesus Christ took the flogging, took the nails in His hands and feet and took for us the punishment that we deserve. He endured all these things because we are His and He loves us.
My I love you, I always felt comforted by you. I love you Lord, because of you I will live for eternity this short window of life is not the end.
Love you mom, especially love you Lord.
I'll be home soon.

Week 104
Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through him who strengthens me."
This week's verse comes from my sister Amy. It's Christmas time! What a wonderful time of the year. It however can be one of the saddest times. I miss mom for example and I recall all the traditions that my mom did for myself and my siblings.
Leaning on Christ even more is what's call during this time as it should be at all times. This is more of a reminder to remember Jesus to remember what He did to remember in that manger, lied one thing, HOPE. It is in this HOPE that we know that this life isn't it, the Savior of the world came into this life to give His life, so we may have life eternally.
I miss my mom so on this day I want to thank my mom for it is in Christmas that my mom always showed us the love of the LORD, the joy that my mom would give us gifts when we had nothing, but something more than just gifts mom showed us LOVE. I know you were able to provide because of His strength.
I love you mom, I love you Lord.
See you soon.

Week 105
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
This final verse for 2015 comes from my sister Amy. Appropriate verse as we head into 2016. Without a doubt there will be more lives lost in 2016, but this doesn't come without despair. You see like my mom knows, giving your life to Christ is what's the most important part of this life. Nothing is more important. This life comes to an end for 100% of the 100% people on the face of this planet.
However as the verse above states, those who are in Christ are new creation, the old has passed and we are made new. You see though we may leave this life, we will gain LIFE. This life is not it, we will inherit eternal life with Christ, once we accept Him as our Lord and Savior.
So what does this mean? It means this life isn't it, though you and I may know people who will pass away this coming year, we must know what happens to us when this life is over.
Think about it. Jesus is real. As my mom know's Jesus is real. I'll never forget the joy my mom felt when mom would hear the end of one of Billy Graham's crusade message the song would play "Come as you are".
Come as you are to Christ this coming year and this year. His arms are wide open.
I love you mom, I love you Lord.
See you soon.

Week 106
Deuteronomy 34:5-6
So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. And He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor; but no man knows his burial place to this day.
This week we talk about Moses. What a great leader of the Isarelites, but he was a great leader that was called by God and called to lead the people. Though at first when he was called he felt like he couldn't do it and tried to back down a lot. Even with this God knew what he would do and Moses led the Isarelites to the Promise Land, though Moses was not allowed to enter it. I think a lot of times as people who ever we are, as we serve Christ, we will be called to important things for His glory. My mom was the one that God called to lead mom's family. I think back a lot and I see where I am today. I heard my brother talk about how today he felt bad as he has a new job yet he wants to tell mom how happy he is and wanted to see mom smile proud. But today he can't, but the comfort he has is knowing that mom lead him and is now with Christ.
Moses this great leader was called to lead the people in the end he passed never truly seeing the fruit of his leadership or did he? Yet God gave him something and honored him like no other. The verse above states how God, buried Moses, what an honor and blessing. Today as parents, managers, leaders in any way, know that your work will never be forgotten and the fruits of your leadership, the people you mentored and lead by God's grace will be much better knowing you were there for them to train, to help, and to lead.
Today my mom who was appointed by God to lead mom's family is with Christ. Mom knows the fruit of mom's leadership was first to lead us to Christ (The Promise) and today mom's job was well done.
Love you mom and Love you Lord.
Will be Home soon.

2 Corinthians 12:8-9
8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.
9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
This week's verse is about knowing a little more about our Lord and Savior. In this passage Paul is suffering from a messenger of Satan who is tormenting him (see verse 7). As Paul pleaded for this messenger to be removed God answered him by stating my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. This is the truth for every believer, we follow Christ, and we must learn to trust Him daily as we do so ourselves do not get magnified but Christ.
In the days that continue from mom leaving this life more and more I find it easier but then there are days that I find it hard, and it's not just me but also my siblings. For example, my sister Amy today expressed how she wishes she could have done more to understand mom's problems. I mentioned to my sister it's OK, and I quoted Psalm 139:16 which the Psalmist writes that all the days of his life was written even before he was shaped in his mother's womb. It's important at times like this to know that God's grace is what sustains, it's what we need to remember as time goes on, understanding this leads us to knowing that His grace carries us despite what we are going through. So as we realize this we learn to trust God more and more and as we do so, God's power is made perfect, knowing that it is all because of God we can be where we are today.
Our reliance needs to be on Him, no on us and as others see us they must too know this to be the truth.
Love you mom, especially love you Lord.

Jeremiah 17:7-8
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
8 He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
This week I have talked to a few friends about the scriptures. I must admit sometimes I feel like asking, why don't you understand. These friends are basically Christians who seemingly are listening to suppose Christian Teachers. This one "Christian Teacher" I was asked to listen to stated that since following Christ, he no longer has any issues. Just listening to this and even studying the Bible it's clear that this message gives false hope to many. It's not Biblical, meaning in The Bible, there is nothing that states, that by following God you will not have any issues.
The verse above points specifically to the one who trusts in the Lord though trouble may come that person is sustained by the Lord.
My mom followed Christ. I could pretend and tell you that mom was perfect and all, but this would be false. The truth is mom followed Christ, my mom accepted Jesus Christ as mom's Lord and Savior. Mom lived this life with a failed marriage, mom was a lone with no job, no education here in America, as mom was a foreign person from India, mom by the world's standards had nothing. But my mom followed God and accepted Jesus. In the same sense, God provided for my mom with what my mom needed. Mom was not laying back and saying because I accepted Christ my life will be without issues. My mom worked hard, pulling a grocery cart miles in the winter, mom raised mom's kids and took care of them, scraping and saving off of welfare and child support, and mom raised alone mom's kids, not able to get a job. Mom did what mom could and mom raised us little rug rats a lone, of course by the grace of God.
Then when as we grew older, mom encountered several physical ailments, two final ailments being Rheumatoid Arthritis and High Blood Pressure, yet mom saw mom's kids grow older. Then one graceful day September 25th, 2013 Mom went home to be with Christ forever, as my mom passed from this life in mom's sleep. After all this mom until the very last breath believed and trusted in Jesus as mom's Lord and Savior. The Lord never promised us a life without issues, but when we follow Christ though we will still have issues, we also have the ONE who gave us eternal life, as now my mom is experiencing.
I love you mom, I love you Lord. See you soon.

Week 109

John 18:38 Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”After he had said this, he went back outside to the Jews and told them, “I find no guilt in him.
This week in my BSF class I brought up something during Fellowship time. I asked are there multiple versions of the truth? The answer is very clear, by mere definition truth is truth, there is no falsehood in it.
In the Gospel of John Pilate asked Christ this question: "What is truth" and what Jesus said was not recorded. Pilate then went out and told the Jews there is no guilt in Him, meaning he could not find Jesus guilty. The passage alludes perhaps that Pilate really did believe that Jesus was the truth therefore He could not be guilty. Nevertheless, when I was growing up Mom raised us to know Jesus. Therefore there was never a time growing up or thereafter that I believed that Jesus was not real, that He wasn't the truth and the life (John 14:6). As I grew older and know because of mom's leading me to Christ I searched to find out why is Christ real, why is Jesus the truth, and all the other Holy books not true. Afterall there has to be one truth there can't be multiple books about God that contextually differ and yet they can be both considered the truth.
This journey of exploration led me to detail knowing why Jesus is the truth. In the simplest of ideas, if you study the world around you, one sees that the the ideas and thoughts presented in the Bible and the ideas and thoughts that Science states are actually seen. When you use the same criteria with the other holy books and religions of the world you see that the gaps are larger and larger between science and the other Holy books.
The truth is mom led me to Christ it's true, and as I took hold of what my mom showed me and carried that into adult hood, I understood that there has to be one truth Jesus Christ and it holds the test.
Thank you mom for leading me to the truth to Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior.
I love you mom, I love you Lord. Home is where I will be.
