Weekly Verse and Song for Tonight Weeks 1 7- 24
Week 17:
Psalm 18:28 English Standard Version
"For it is you who light my lamp; the LORD my God lightens my darkness. "
_
This week Easter came and went though in our hearts and minds we remember Jesus Christ everyday. It's been hard as I keep having dreams of my mom and how much I miss mom more during this Easter weekend. The dark times seem to keep coming up in my heart and mind I know the Lord will turn this darkness into light.

Week 18:
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve, as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, and remain until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
These past weeks I've found myself thinking of my mom so much. I'm in my mom's house and I can still see my mom (figuratively) here drinking my mom's water on the table and the look my mom gives me as if my mom is saying "ugh I just drank a lot of water". I've been recalling the way my mom looks as my mom opens the door, when I would come back from work. Today amongst all this my sister sent me a song below, of how we need the Lord. It's titled "Lord I Need You". It's a reminder for me today that I need the Lord, it's hard to go through all this but knowing that I need the Lord is of utmost importance. My mom is the presence of the Lord. I admit I want to see my mom soon, I know there will be a day when Jesus shall return and my mom will be raised. Today I know I need the Lord.

Week 19
John 11:17-27
Jesus Comforts the Sisters of Lazarus
On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. Now Bethany was less than two miles from Jerusalem, and many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them in the loss of their brother. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home. “Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
This is the passage I needed tonight. As Mother's Day 2014 approaches this is the first one with my mom being in Heaven. I recall last year driving with my mom to an Indian Restaurant that has become a tradition for the last 2 years. I remember my Mom telling me "..now you kids take me to a restaurant"....referring to what my mom did for us. I was happy and I wore my blue blazer like I did for the past two or more years. Now a year later my mom is in Heaven, and I want to see mom again, as this verse points out:
Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
Yes Lord I believe this,...Thank you Jesus for as you comforted the Sisters of Lazarus your words are comforting me at this moment.
One day we will all stand before the throne,

Week 20
Psalm 136
English Standard Version (ESV)
His Steadfast Love Endures Forever
136 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever.
2 Give thanks to the God of gods,
for his steadfast love endures forever.
3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords,
for his steadfast love endures forever;
Tonight this passage and the subsequent song reminds me how Christ is there for me His love never fails. I love and miss my mom today was particularly hard as little things such as trying to accomplish things at work, and make my mom proud remind me how I cannot just call my mom up and let my mom know how I am doing. Truly knowing that Christ loves me and His love never fails reminds me that though my mom is in Heaven, God doesn't allow things because He doesn't love us, like a father or mother our Heavenly Father loves us and He knows what He is doing.
His Love will never run out, it's always there.

Week 21
Philippians 4:13 (English Standard Version)
13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Siimple passage for Tonight. This passage reminds that it is Christ's Strength that I carry on. I visited my moms place the day before Mother's Day. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. As days go on I find myself wanting to do for my siblings as my mom has done. I just know carrying all this and more that Christ is the one who strengthens me to carry on. To live for Him alone and on that day where my body is in the ground I may know that I did everything I could to carry on to bring other's to Him. My mom instilled the values in me to follow Jesus. Miss you mom.

Week 22
John 15:9-15English Standard Version (ESV)
9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
My mom instilled something in me that I carry with me to this day. That is laying your life down. My mom came here from India 30 plus years ago. My mom had many times a chance to go back to India to raise us there in the comfort of her dad and family. Instead my precious mom chose to stay in America to raise her kids as Americans and Christians. Mom never saw her dad ever again.
They say you can never do enough, mom you however are the exception you did enough for me. You raised us here as Americans and most importantly you taught me and my siblings to KNOW and to LOVE Christ, Today I am amazed and awe struck that you get the chance to experience Christ. In a sense like Christ gave the greatest example of laying His life down, mom so did you. You now see your dad and family again. I Miss you mom.
Praise you Jesus for laying your life down for me. By which death isn't the end.

Week 23
Psalms 119:50 This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life.
As days go on as summer approaches it just keeps getting more and more harder and harder. I think as it gets harder I am realizing reasons for that.
1. I lived with mom for 35 years, until I got married.
2. I was so close to my mom, I would call mom 3 times a day
3. Even though for 2 years I lived out of town, I never allowed more than 3 months go by without seeing my mom
That's a short list but as I see thing, Jesus blessed me by letting me be the one to find mom, and to hear mom's final Earthly words: I love you too Bash. That short list may lead me to believe that it was I to take care of my mom, but the truth is Jesus Christ was the one and is the one.
I feel afflicted I feel broken at times, but I can stand on Christ's promise that "...in my affliction, that your promise gives me life"
This life will end, it will not last forever, but the promise of Christ is life after this, Christ said on the cross to the thief "...today you will be with me in paradise" Luke 23:43
That is life, home with Christ like my mom a believer is!
Thank you Lord for you and taking care of mom here on Earth and now in Heaven.

Week 24
1 Peter 5:6-11English Standard Version (ESV)
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11 To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
I would say that in the last few weeks I've felt a suffering, a suffering of missing my mom and feeling lonely. This verse has established somewhat of an assurance by God's awesome grace that the suffering will only be for a little while. I know I will see you again mom all because of Jesus. I love you mom, especially Father I love you. Amen.
