Weekly Verse and Song for Tonight Weeks 58- 66
Week 50, December 10, 2014
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Christmas 2014 is quickly coming upon us. A friend in my Bible study asked me if it's hard for me this time of the year without my mom, the simple answer I gave was no. As I continued in my own mind the thought is, my mom raised me and gave me the tools I need for life by God's grace. Then when it was time and my mom work here was finished the Lord called my mom home.
All of us have a job in this life that God gave us. In the passage above we see that the Virgin Mary beared a son and His name is Immanuel. Immanuel means God with us. The Lord the creator of the Universe chose to come to Earth and live among His people, and die for them, lifting the burden of sin. For this very reason Jesus was born. We must live lives pleasing to the Creator of this Universe, for when our time comes we will be called home if we have followed Christ, believed in Him and put our sole trust in Him.
It was the first Noel. Today and everyday my mom is with Christ.
Mom sometimes I can't believe that you are not here, but I know in my heart that you are not gone you live on because of that First Noel that we celebrate during Christmas.
I love you mom, and I especially Lord I love you. I will you see you soon as I will be home once my work here is complete.

Week 51, December 17, 2014
Matthew 2:9-11 9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Christmas 2014 is and the Year is coming to a close. It's the second Christmas without my mom being here. However by God's grace, I don't feel a lone. I feel the Lord comforting me through this. I don't deserve I don't deserve the Lord's love, and if we are all honest none of us do.
As reflecting this week on the Magi that came and visited Christ and this Holy Night. With a thorough reading of scriptures it's clear that this wasn't the night that Jesus was born but sometime later, when Jesus was at least 2 perhaps. The Lord came in human flesh to be that perfect Sin offering to step in my place and all of our places to take away the punishment for sin. Christ came, on this Holy Night and sometime later was visited by the Magi (or Wise men). The passage says that the Magi worshiped Jesus. As we celebrate Christmas we remember the birth of our Savior like the Magi we can visit Christ daily not only on Christmas but through prayer, and by "doing to the least of these" ( Matthew 25:40 (NIV) 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’) .
One day when our lives here is over we will be in the presence of our Savior, like my mom.
Mom you did you job here on Earth, today you are enjoying peace with Christ. I miss you so much mom, even as I reflect, I know you are happy, and in the Kings presence. My missing is because I wish to be close to you. While on Earth you gave me Jesus, you gave me what I needed to finish my job here. Thank you mom. Thank you Jesus for coming and allowing us to know that one day when we are done here, we will be in your presence.
I love you mom. Especially I love you Lord. See you soon.

Luke 2:8-14
8 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. 10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
Christmas 2014 is tomorrow and this officially states to me one thing missing this year and for the rest of the years to come my mom.
However it's not over death can't hold us because of our Savior Jesus Christ I will see my mom again.
In reflecting today my sister Amy sent me the above verse. It's an amazing verse. Think about it, these unwanted and filthy Shepherds were thought of as unwanted by many during those days. An Angel appeared to them and told them about Jesus being born. Then suddenly the sky filled with Angels praising God and saying “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” Imagine a dark stormy night and suddenly you see lighting that lights up your neighborhood and it appears for a brief second that it is day time. I imagine this is what happened on this Holy Night.
The part that is most interesting is that God chose these unwanted and filthy Shepherds to see and hear about the birth of Christ.
God chooses what people say is weak.
I am so blessed to have my mom here with me. My mom was from India and lived here in America alone raising 5 kids. Mom pulled shopping carts in the snow to get food for us and took care of us by the grace of God.
God chose my mom to lead this family, and my mom did. Mom by all accounts could have seemed weak but by God's grace this was not true.
I love you mom.
Thank you Jesus for coming as we remember this Christmas season. The blessing we have is knowing you Lord, and what you chose by laying your glory by and choosing us, weak individuals by all accounts but you seeing in us, more than we see in ourselves, so much that you came to give us a second birth.
I love you Lord Jesus.,
Mom enjoy Christmas everyday with our Savior. Just like you lead us here mom, you took the lead and see Christ first. I will be home with you and our Lord soon.
God Bless.

Revelation 21:4
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Hard to believe that this is a full year that my beautiful, and loving mom passed from this world. It's hard not easy. Even on this very last day of 2014, Life sometimes can seem like one sorrow and pain after another after another.
The above verse as written by John on the Island of Patmos, as it was revealed to him by Christ. That there will be a day when the sorrows of this world shall fade, and the image is Christ, stepping off His throne wiping the tears from the eyes of all believers in Him, and telling them that there will no more be mourning, crying or pain for the old things are done.
It will be a Victorious day.
I love you mom and I will see you soon. Love you Lord.

Job 38 English Standard Version (ESV)The Lord Answers
Job38 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said:
2 “Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
3 Dress for action[a] like a man;
I will question you, and you make it known to me.
4 “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell me, if you have understanding.
5 Who determined its measurements—surely you know!
Or who stretched the line upon it?
6 On what were its bases sunk,
or who laid its cornerstone,
7 when the morning stars sang together
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8 “Or who shut in the sea with doors
when it burst out from the womb,
9 when I made clouds its garment
and thick darkness its swaddling band,
10 and prescribed limits for it
and set bars and doors,
11 and said, ‘Thus far shall you come, and no farther,
and here shall your proud waves be stayed’?
The next 4 weeks we'll look at Job 38 with the same song in mind by Chris Tomlin. This time of the year i the midwest you can go outside and see nice stars on cool and clear winter nights. If you know the constellations you can even see Orion's belt and make out Orion. Now the moon is so bright and large outside it just seems to float in the sky with the rest of the stars. The verse above:
4 "“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.5 Who determined its measurements—surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?"
Many scholars view this as God telling Job about creation and it in fact is. It's a creation text where the Lord is revealing to Job how He measured the Earth. Our Lord is revealing this to Job to comfort him in his distress. When I look at the world around us I see creation I see God revealing His self to us.
Many times in the past few weeks I've had a lot of distress about my mom, but the God of the Universe the God that created the all that we see and know sets the world up. When we look through a Telescope we see a small area of space and this area has trillions of stars in it. Every human on the face of the Earth can own a trillion stars, and the Lord says I know each one of their names. He knows my name and He knows each and every one of us. Yet He cares so much for the people on this little tiny rock called Earth and He was willing to come and claim His people and say I know you by name. I assume responsibility for you and I will die for my people to save them from their sins.
It is because of this great Love that the Creator of this Universe displays for us, that will one day allow me to see my mom again and to ultimately be in His presence. That's Indescribable!
I love you mom and I love you Lord and I will be home soon.

Job 38 English Standard Version (ESV)The Lord Answers
Job38 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said:
“Have you ever given orders to the morning,
or shown the dawn its place,
13 that it might take the earth by the edges
and shake the wicked out of it?
14 The earth takes shape like clay under a seal;
its features stand out like those of a garment.
15 The wicked are denied their light,
and their upraised arm is broken. 16 “Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea
or walked in the recesses of the deep?
17 Have the gates of death been shown to you?
Have you seen the gates of the deepest darkness?
18 Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth?
Tell me, if you know all this.
19 “What is the way to the abode of light?
And where does darkness reside?
20 Can you take them to their places?
Do you know the paths to their dwellings?
21 Surely you know, for you were already born!
You have lived so many years!
We started last week and now with the remaining 3 weeks we'll look at Job 38 with the same song in mind by Chris Tomlin. Still I am amazed as I look into the night sky and see the wonders God has created. Verse 19-20 of Job 38 reads, "What is the way to the abode of light? And where does darkness reside? Can you take them to their places? Do you know the paths to their dwellings?". Again in these verses God is showing Job the problems he is facing are not a match for God. In doing so our Heavenly Father reveals to Job more about creation.
As we study science we see today that darkness is not necessarily the absent of light Scientist believe there is something called dark matter. We see here again how Science meets Scriptures and agrees with it. God shows us in these verses that He is in control nothing is out of His control, He created the Universe and all that is in it. He created the darkness and the light.
Lord as I face more and more days that are years without my mom I am reminded that the troubles that I face like Job are not a match for you. I trust you Lord that you know what you are doing and have nothing but the best for us.
Mom I know you today are with our Savior and I will continue to be a light to this dark world for Jesus Christ.
I love you mom and I love you Lord see you soon,

22 “Have you entered the storehouses of the snow,
or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
23 which I have reserved for the time of trouble,
for the day of battle and war?
24 What is the way to the place where the light is distributed,
or where the east wind is scattered upon the earth?
25 “Who has cleft a channel for the torrents of rain
and a way for the thunderbolt,
26 to bring rain on a land where no man is,
on the desert in which there is no man,
27 to satisfy the waste and desolate land,
and to make the ground sprout with grass?
28 “Has the rain a father,
or who has begotten the drops of dew?
29 From whose womb did the ice come forth,
and who has given birth to the frost of heaven?
30 The waters become hard like stone,
and the face of the deep is frozen.
31 “Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades
or loose the cords of Orion?
32 Can you lead forth the Mazzarothb]">[b] in their season,
or can you guide the Bear with its children?
We continue with this, for this week and culminate next week. Again like the theme of Job 38 with the same song in mind by Chris Tomlin.
As I read the passage here it is very interesting that God continues to reveal to Job what He did. Why does God do this? Well I think the reasons are a few:
1. Job has problems BIG problems is what he feels, yet the Lord tells him I am bigger than those.
2. God used Job's situation to also reveal creation to us by showing him through Creation how great He is,
Daily I see my mom's face and I miss not talking to my mom, I have to remember however that we serve a God who created everything. God tells Job have you :
Have you entered the storehouses of the snow,
or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
Job through this starts to fully understand who God is and if Job served this God how much more can He do for his troubles.
Today and everyday I miss my mom, but I serve the same God that Job served. If this is true how much more is God taking care of me and taking care of my beautiful mom.
Lord I face troubles everyday, the darkest day seems to be when my went to be with you. But Lord on this Earth I know I don't understand everything but I do know like your servant Job that I serve you and you created the storehouses of the snow, and hail, yet you care for me.

Job 38 English Standard Version (ESV) The Lord Answers
Job38 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said:
Do you know the laws of the heavens?
Can you set up God’s dominion over the earth?
34 “Can you raise your voice to the clouds
and cover yourself with a flood of water?
35 Do you send the lightning bolts on their way?
Do they report to you, ‘Here we are’?
36 Who gives the ibis wisdom"
or gives the rooster understanding?"
37 Who has the wisdom to count the clouds?
Who can tip over the water jars of the heavens
38 when the dust becomes hard
and the clods of earth stick together?
39 “Do you hunt the prey for the lioness
and satisfy the hunger of the lions
40 when they crouch in their dens
or lie in wait in a thicket?
41 Who provides food for the raven
when its young cry out to God
and wander about for lack of food?
We culminate this week. Again like the theme of Job 38 with the same song in mind by Chris Tomlin.
As I read this passage there is an interesting theme that is about worry. In verse 41 God says:
"41. Who provides food for the raven
when its young cry out to God
and wander about for lack of food?"
The Lord provides for us. I think of my mom, there was never one day, one night, that went by that I went to bed hungry. We had "nothing" growing up, but God gave me my mom. My mom worked and cared for us just like the raven.
In the end just as the Lord revealed to Job the theme ultimately is I take care of you Job just like I take care of the Raven, how much more however are you?
I love you mom and I love you Jesus more. I will see you soon.
