Weekly Verse and Song for Tonight Weeks 128 - 136

Week 128:
Revelation 22:1
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
Today I spent sometime thinking about life and doing what we are called to do in this world. I am the type of person who through time as growing as a Christian I learned to see things through Christian eyes. From what I know this is a sign of maturity in the Christian faith, seeing things as you believe God wants you to. This could be through music, problems at work, sibling rivalry, even through movies. Today I was checking out the movie Terminator 2 Judgement Day. By all intents and purposes it's not a Christian movie, but seeing things through Christian eyes can be so wonderful and powerful. The final scene was where the T-1000 was destroyed and the "good Terminator" did what he came to do his mission was over and now, it was time for him to end. The kid playing John Connor cried and told the "good Terminator" not to leave, he ordered him not to leave, but the Terminator that was sent back to protect him from the T-1000 realized his mission was over and accepted his fate. He asked John Connor and his mom to lower him into the vat "lava" like liquid that would melt and destroy him. As he was being lowered and as I watched the scene from the 90's movie it reminded me of my mom.
My mom came into this world raised in India, and came here to the United States and after a failed marriage (by the world's terms), mom was left with kids to raise on mom's own for all intents and purposes. Mom suffered many things, but mom knew mom's mission to raise mom's kids in the Lord and when mom's time was done, mom would leave this live, and mom's body was to be lowered into the grave. As the Terminator was lowered into the vat to be forever "laid to rest", his free hand gave the thumbs up sign. It reminded me of mom we took the "bearers" glove off and wrapped roses in thumbs up fashion. However all this to say that mom is alright mom is better, an no more pain, mom did mom's job and it was mom's time to leave.
Mom however is not gone, my mom lives forever with Jesus, for He is the life and the river of the water of life flows from His throne! Thank you Jesus. This life is not the end.
I love you mom, I love you LORD.
I'll see you soon mom! I'll see you soon Jesus.

Week 129:
Galatians 6:7-8 English Standard Version (ESV)7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
Today's verse is about reaping what you sow. The verse that Paul wrote to the Galatians is basically speaking of a principle that God puts into the Earth. When one sows pumpkin seeds you will reap Pumpkins, sow tomatoes you reap tomatoes, etc. That's the principle that God puts into the (reaping and sowing) Earth but at the same time , we are taught that what we sow in our lives we will reap those things.
My mom lived here on Earth and tried mom's best by God's grace. My mom sowed Christ in our lives and good came from it, but mom had a job to do, and mom did it. Today I can say mom led me to Christ, mom led me to the good.
Thank you mom. Thank you Jesus.
See you soon.

Proverbs 21:21
Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness
will find life, righteousness, and honor.
I think today we are all running around, it's a busy world we live in. Just go to the airport and you'll see the people rushing to catch their connecting flights, people waiting in long TSA lines getting frustrated at how slow and long they can be, people rushing to check their bags, people just in a hurry. The verse for tonight comes from my sister Amy and it's from Proverbs, it speaks on pursuing righteousness and kindness to find life, righteousness, and honor, even in a busy world this must hold true.
Recently I was cutting the grass at mom's house, and the neighbor came out, and I started talking to her, one thing she mentioned was how much she misses my mom. It's amazing in many ways here I am not even really knowing that mom spoke much to the neighbor, and now I am learning the opposite. The opposite that I am learning is that mom was actually friends and perhaps good friends with the neighbor. The neighbor told me how mom would take care of mom's yard and just sit outside sometimes, I said my mom? She said, yes. The neighbor even said how mom was nice to her, and then the neighbor ended by saying "I love that woman".
Yes I learned more about mom that day by mom's interaction with the neighbor. It's amazing to me because I didn't know mom did all that. As I read the above verse and write this, I am reminded that mom did pursue, righteousness and kindness, as displayed with mom's friendship with the neighbor and now mom has truly found life, righteousness and honor with mom's creator. This makes me smile and reminds me to always pursue the same, even in this busy world, because as we do so we share Jesus with those all around us, perhaps by not even speaking.
Thank you mom.
I love you mom and I love you Jesus. See you soon.

Psalm 121:1-3
My Help Comes from the Lord
A Song of Ascents.
121 I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
I was looking at my friend's FB status today, he posted a pic of him and his mom and he wrote how he couldn't believe that his mom is no longer here and today was an anniversary. Additionally he summed it all up with 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 and said that he will see his mom again. Praise God what a wonderful truth.
The Psalmist in today's verse portrays the need for help not from Earthly things, but as verse 2 says from The Lord who made heaven and earth. We all struggle in some form or another, not one person is without it. It's because we need to be kept from becoming conceited and put our hope in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. My mom a lone in this country I know trusted God, when I struggle I think of the things my mom's been through, then I recall the one who took care of my mom all along. The Lord is always there for us, mom went through so many things I'll never truly know, but my mom's faith was in Jesus. Mom set the example for me. I recall once when I found myself in Oklahoma all a lone after a failed marriage. Being a lone and not having help made me think of mom and mom's struggles with being a lone in this country after a marriage also fell a part. When I called mom, there was little mom could do for me, and that was OK, but mom said I will pray for you.
Mom knew that my help comes from the Lord, and today mom is with Jesus. Just like my friend wrote, I will too see my mom again.
I love you mom, I love you Jesus.
I'll be home before I know it.

Isaiah 43:2
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
Just today I was thinking about my mom and sometimes I wonder more and more what life is like when we pass from this life. I am big into science and with the Juno space Mission arriving in Juno's Orbit this week, it shows the human resolve and curiosity of the world around us. Much the same I wonder what my is mom doing right this very second. Mom lived a life here, raised us and then on September 25th 2013 left this life. Though the Bible doesn't give us a perfect understanding of what is happening now, we have glimpse, such as Jesus telling the thief on the cross "Today you will be with me in paradise..." (Luke 24:43). My human resolve wants to know more, but there just are not answers given to us. But as I study God's word I know one thing my mom is with Christ.
The passage above was written by the Prophet Isaiah, it is a comforting for me today as it reminds me that the Lord is with us. One commentary speaks of how this was said to the Jews to trust God as they were captured by the Babylonian army.
The verse applies seemingly to us being grafted into the nation of Israel as God's chosen people.
Today though I may resolve to know what mom is doing the best is knowing that mom is with Jesus as mom passed through theses rivers into the rivers of Eternal life.
I love you mom I love you Lord.
Coming Home soon.

Acts 7:54-8:3
The Stoning of Stephen54 When the members of the Sanhedrin heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him. 55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56 “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”
57 At this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, 58 dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul.
59 While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60 Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.
This week I heard the song "Because He Lives" at Church it was the closing song. It's one great Christian song that teaches us that because Jesus Lives we can face the uncertain things of this life. My mom spent a lot of time here on Earth trusting God, knowing though that certain hardships and problems may come that mom can, and has put mom's trust in Jesus. Knowing that in the end of this life as mom crosses that river, though a hard life mom will always be taken care of and not only that but mom's kids.
It's a hope we can all rely on, if we have given our lives to Jesus Christ and accepted Him as our Lord and Savior.
Today even as I go through things in this life knowing that my life is for Christ, it makes this life not as harsh as it may seem, as I can know that no matter what obstacles, caused by myself or others Christ is with me. As I look around today it's a rather gloomy summer day, I recall days like this when mom was here and we were kids. I recall mom lying on mom's bed. As I write this I recall mom must of miss mom's dad a lot, mom never showed it, and I wonder "mom how did you do it", but then I again recall my mom was wise enough to know that mom could face these uncertain days because He lives!
I love you mom always , I love you LORD ALWAYS.

John 11:20-25
20 When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home.21 “Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;
What a great God we serve. Tonight's verse comes at a time where I need to remember that Jesus is who He says, He is. At a time where Mary and Martha are grieving over their brother Lazarus, who passed a way it's interesting to note in verse 20, where Martha heard of Jesus coming, she went up to Jesus and said, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”. What trust Martha had in God. She truly believed that though her brother had died that he will be raised in the last day and she believed that God will give Jesus whatever He asks. We know the end of the story (Read John 11:38-43) but if we put ourselves into that time where Mary and Martha were, they had to trust Jesus, trust in who He says, He is.
This verse echos for me today. As I miss my mom dearly, I am reminded that though my mom is not here any longer on this Earth my mom lives. My mom lives even better than my mom has ever lived in this life. I know this. I don't think I know this I know this, because 1. I trust in Jesus, and 2. as Jesus says: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die."
I know in my heart and mind that my mom believes in Jesus and thus mom is alive with mom's Resurrected Savior forever. What better place is there.

Psalm 138:3
“In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.”
It's been a rough few months with work, training and not getting enough sleep. As I sometimes lie down at night "trying to get some sleep" thoughts of mom pop into my head. See I was so close to mom that I find myself thinking about mom all the time. I say a lot during these rough few months, I wish my mom was here. Sometimes I just want to talk to mom and tell mom how I'm doing, I know mom can't answer me, however the verse for tonight tells us something who can go to. The verse for tonight reminds me to cry out to Jesus as the Psalmist wrote he cried out, God answered him and by so God made the him bold with strength in his soul.
I take this verse to remind me in times where I have rough months, weeks, days or even years to cry out Jesus He knows and He will give me/us strength. Crying out is a description, it could be literally crying out vocally or quiet in your thoughts on your knees before the Lord to give us strength, but it's all in order to make our requests to Jesus, as we come humbly to Him. I recall so many times in my life how I cried to God vocally and He answered, maybe not immediately but He did and times where I cried out to God quietly on my knees before Him.
My mom though not here gave me the tools I need to live a life devoted to God, and so with that I am equipped, and even if your parents haven't you are equipped to cry out to Jesus, to give Him your life and seek Him.
God is constant and will never leave a person who's heart is turned over to Him.
Thank you Jesus.

Week 136:
2 Corinthians 4:16 “Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.”
Just a few minutes ago, I had a text conversation with one of my good friends. His wife has a few kids and this weekend coming up, they are moving their last daughter back to school. My friend shared with me how his wife, is very sad and trying to avoid getting depressed. His wife made a comment "what am I going to do now". It reminded me a lot about my mom and myself. For 35 years I stayed with my mom and took care of mom until I got married and moved out. I knew in my mind this was something to I wanted to do, but as I reflect I recall I was the last "kid" in the house. My mom never told me this but it's possible that my mom thought "What am I going to do now".
I mentioned to my friend that his wife, will see in time that this is not a bad that thing, that other things naturally occupy your time as things like this take place. People learn to adapt I mentioned to him. Before I left "home" I took care of mom, I cleaned the house, cut the grass, walked the dog, I shopped etc. When I got married and left, mom was naturally adaptable and my mom started doing the things I did. My mom learned to walk the dog and took care of her, mom became more organized and mom did things that I was doing. Mom even did it better mom figured out to use the gas company's home warranty program to get items such as light fixtures fixed around the house.
Next my friend asked me if I think his wife in this case, should separate herself from her daughter. I mentioned that will be something that comes naturally as one takes on more responsibilities in life they separate themselves in a more natural way. However that doesn't mean you stop caring. His wife will always need her daughter and her daughter will need her mom, but it will be something different, something better. For example his wife will be able to sit back Praising God and seeing how her daughter progresses in life and the same will be true should her daughter have kids she will be able to take of the grand kids. I came back ever 3 months and visited my mom while living in Tulsa, my mom told me "everything you do is good" as I was driving back to Tulsa after a visit. Mom was essentially stating that mom was sitting back Praising God for the work mom was able to do in my life.
All this to say that life is progressive, daily as the verse above states the outward man is perishing yet the inward man is being renewed....one day we will all leave this life, as life progresses it brings us closer and closer to being Eternally with Jesus.
I love you mom, I love you Jesus.
I left home, but I will see you soon at HOME.
