Weekly Verse and Song for Tonight Weeks 172 -179
April 19, 2017
Week 172

Job 13:15
Though he slay me, I will hope in him; yet I will argue my ways to his face.

Today's verse comes  from the Book of Job. Job a man who honored God and lived a life where God blessed Him and His family. Satan asked if he could strike Job as he believed this was the only reason Job honored God. God allowed Satan to attack Job, but he could not kill Job. In Job's distress once being struck, as we see in verse 13:15, Job essentially said though He slay me, I will hope in Him, and I will present my case to Him.

In our lives we all go through troubling circumstances that makes us wonder where a loving God is. It may seem everything is crashing down, our love ones pass, we get caught in a troublesome situation, a spouse decides to leave, we are given a gold watch and told a computer has replaced our job, money may be tight, a child goes wayward, we get sick, whatever the case we can learn from Job.

In those times when everything seems like they are crushing down we, need to seek God and know that our hope is in Him, no matter what.  Go to God in prayer and speak to Him meditate on His word, as Job did. He is a good Father,  and everything we go through He allows for a reason (Romans 8:28).

My mom in mom's life went through a lot and I know mom, thought at various times, "what kind of life is this?". In mom's journey with Christ, mom lead a hard life, finally getting Rheumatoid Arthritis, I know mom was upset, but Mom knew who Mom's Savior is, and where mom needed to place mom's hope. Mom told me many times while watching the end of Billy Graham Crusades, "it's like Heaven is coming down".

Though we struggle know that The Lord knows and will allow it for a time. (1 Peter 5:10)

I love you mom, I love you LORD>

Home is the where I want to be.

Week 173:

1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

I remember many times I would see my mom with new pamphlets. They were given to mom by people who would come to the front door and talk to mom. These pamphlets were promoting a faith in Jesus that wasn't correct.

My sister asked my mom once why my mom would take those pamphlets and talk to these individuals, and mom simply said "I just wanted to talk with them". As I and my siblings grew older we saw a different side to mom, at least I did. Mom seemed more relaxed, I don't doubt in my mind that mom did not believe the information that was given by these individuals, however I believed mom living a lone just enjoyed talking with others, and as far as I know maybe mom would be telling them the TRUTH.

I felt the need to tell mom that this information wasn't correct and mom did not seem surprised, as far as I can tell.

As the verse above tells us, that it's important to test the different people, the different things that we hear, watch, read, etc. This is a Biblical testing model and it's essential to do so, and this can include your friends, family, Church, pastors, etc.

I love you mom and I love you Jesus.

Home forward, always.

Week 174:

Colossians 3:23
23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,

The idea of working for the Lord has been on my heart and on my mind for most of this year. It all stems on the journey I was on through the end of last year. I felt abandoned by most of family and friends, and the work, that I was doing. I gave everything I could do for that job, and in those days I felt a lone. As I reflect on this verse I remember today where I am at and with everything in me I am to work for the Lord, because ultimately He is who I serve. The truth is I tell myself every morning that the work I do, the training I do, the studying I do it is for Jesus.

My mom set this example in my life. Mom could have given up and walked away from her kids, the surmounting pressures of this life, and all could have cause mom to abandon us and head home to India.

Like the Lord in this life who stepped off His place of Royalty and came do this dark world for His people. He could have easily walked away but He didn't.

I love you mom thank you for showing me Jesus and I love you Lord thank you for being my One and Only Lord and Savior. .

Week 175

Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

I have this passion for the truth. This is in many things I do I like to know the truth about things, that is why something is correct or why something is not correct.

I have friends that absolutely do not believe in Creation, they are more scientific minded and believe in Evolution. In the verse above Jesus gave a command to His followers to go out and preach the good news. This verse is known as the Great Commission. This applies to followers of Christ to go out and teach others about Him, and who He is, and who do we speak to? Anyone. But it's not always speaking it can be with our actions that is how we live our lives.

In my mom's life, my mom lived more without words but with actions. Mom lived to take care of mom's kids, people noticed mom was raising 4 kids and doing it without a husband. I never really thought about others noticing this however. When we were kids we attended a Church were the people there would pick us up every week and bring us to Church. This was a blessing in itself. Growing up we lost touch with this Church and then one day as an adult I attended this Church again. I recall one day when one of the persons we grew up with came to me and asked how mom was, and said "your mom was blessed, your mom took care of 4 kids".

The real truth is mom was blessed by God to be looked after and cared for. Mom in mom's own right was fulfilling the Great Commission without words but with mom's actions, others noticed and knew God blessed mom, and our family. If God did that there was a reason mom had faith and trust in Mom's savior. So we may not ever know in this life who mom lead to Christ, but we do see the fruits, by God's grace.

I love you mom, I love you Lord.

Homeward soon.

Week 176

Matthew 28:20
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Taking the last part of last week's verse. Jesus told His disciples to go out and make disciples of all Nations, and then said " I am with you always. to the end of the age"

It's amazing for me this week, the song that has been on my mind is keeping my eyes on Jesus. I am getting ready to take an exam and feel overwhelmed at times. I studied hard and have tried my best, but I know through everything in life Jesus is with me.

My mom through the test of life that my mom went through taught me with and without words to keep my eyes on Jesus.

I love you Mom and I love you Lord.

Home the best place to be.

Week 177

May 24, 2017

John 6:65-67

And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.” After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?”

This week I spent time talking to some of my believer friends asking them: How would you explain Jesus to someone who rejects the Bible in the first place Many of my friends have stated several different methods. One of the things I believe they do is feel that is it not their job to answer their questions and instead answer a non-believers question with questions.

As the previous weeks have mentioned that Jesus tells us to go out into the world and make disciples of all nations. This is so important. However many come to a verse like this and read the previous verses and believe that, if a non-believer doesn't believe it's OK, because they weren't called by God. In the verse above many left Jesus, because they never believed, they wanted the benefits of Christ healing, etc. but not much more of a relationship. The ones who stayed and continued to follow truly believed that Jesus is the Son of God. These didn't simply believe because it sounded good, they believed because of what they saw Jesus do, if we take the whole scriptures into context we must also conclude that they believed because of what is written about Jesus.

It's the last point that I talk to my believer friends about and non. Presenting them with evidence that The Bible is divine in origin not simply human. Ultimately giving them reasons to believe in Jesus, and having them to read scriptures, heard God's word and give their lives to Him. This wasn't something I did overnight but took years of research and returning.

Mom never taught me to challenge scriptures, but in a sense mom gave me the reason to believe. Mom first lead me to Christ when I was younger, and like any good relationship it must grow.

I grew with Christ and my relationship strengthen as I pondered and looked for answers that many non-believers were asking me.

I love you mom thank you for leading me to Jesus and I love you Lord.

Home is closer than we know.

Week 178

May 31, 2017

Psalm 147:4
He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names.

and

Psalm 139:4
Even before a word is on my tongue,

behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.

This week it hits me again, how my mom is not here any longer. It's a hard realization sometimes to come to reality with notions that sometimes you are OK with and sometimes you are very sad about. Sometimes it can make me wonder for a second does God really care about us. Well The Bible tells us yes in many ways, however to touch on one way would be to go outside on a clear night, when one can see the stars in the Universe.

The Bible tells us in Psalms 147:4 "
He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names.". Today Scientist have discovered over a billion galaxies and each galaxy contain over a trillion stars. It is said that every human on the face of Earth can own a trillion Stars. The Bible further explains, that God gives names to all the Stars. Now moving backwards to Psalm 139:4:

Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.

This verse explains how God knows us. As numerous as the stars are in the Universe, God names them all, and at the same time He knows us. How much more precious are we are to God that He knows you and I?

What a blessing to know that our Heavenly Father really does care for us!

I love you mom and I love you Lord, thank you Lord for telling us that we are cared by you, so we can put doubts away.

1 Corinthians 12:27
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

I feel very strong, in this, when you truly understand who Jesus is, when you know who He is in your life and why, your life changes. A year ago I gave everything for the job I was working at, I was having so much fun, then in an instance it was all gone meaning because I couldn't accomplish something I was almost worthless to the job.

God however, allowed me the time to stay home and work on the things I needed to work on, by doing so I  started realizing who Jesus is in my life why. Jesus was always there for me, so He was not only my Savior but friend. The why came because I realize in a more in depth manner the saving grace of Jesus, that though I am a sinner He looked at me and laid His life for me. Things changed in such a different and powerful way and I started to live for The Lord meaning I want to honor Him more than anything.

My mom also was the same, Mom suffered so much that I am certain to a point my mom wanted the pain to stop and leave this life (physical pain) as mom wanted the Lord to take mom. Mom knew though that Mom had to raise us and honor God.

Love you mom, Love you Jesus

Week 180

1 Peter 1:8-9
8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

One of the topics that came up this week was about God answering prayers. 1 Peter 1:8-9, tells us something very important. Our faith in Jesus is all we need in this life, for the end result of it is being with Jesus,  as we are saved.

My mom lived a very hard life, but my mom kept mom's faith in Jesus, though suffering came, the faith my mom had never ceased. today mom is with Jesus, which is the end result of mom's faith.

I love you mom and I love you Lord.

Homeward bound
